When Temple Gallery opened in Great Western Arcade in the summer of 1999, Birmingham was in the midst of its renaissance which at the time had not yet encompassed the gallery and art culture. This was quickly to change as we entered the new decade and the city embraced the notion of being a place in which to live. Planners and designers were instrumental in changing the way people used Birmingham and we all became more aware of design and urban style and soon art was on a lot of people’s agendas.

Great Western Arcade is in the heart of the Business and Shopping areas of the city - a beautiful Victorian arcade dating back to 1860, and Temple Gallery in the nine years of trading has become an institution there. We always look to adapt to changing trends and styles and feel that the gallery has been part of Birmingham’s transformation. As a place to invest in new, upcoming artists and prints and paintings of noted and established artists we continue to be a key destination.

Alongside our art, bespoke framing and corporate services the addition of artist’s materials and supplies has added a further dimension to Temple Gallery. We are truly now a one-stop shop, an emporium in which to browse and briefly escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
